Bad Lip Reading (abbreviated as BLR ) is a YouTube – channel, by an anonymous individual run [1] in the music production company, the clips from movies, TV – shows, music, sports and political news spoofs by overdubs humorous vocal work that fits Lip movements of the targets. Rolling Stonedescribed the channel as “Breakout – Hit” of the 2012 United States presidential cycle. [1] As of March 2016 had the Bad Lip Reading YouTube – channel collected more than 5 million subscribers and over 619 million views of its videos. The identity of the Creator is not known.
BACKGROUND
The “Bad Lip Reader” behind the channel is an anonymous music and video producer of Texas. [3] The first Bad Lip Reading was published video a parody of Rebecca Black’s song “Friday”, entitled “Gang Fight”. New music and the lyrics were matched Blacks video to make it appear as though they were singing giant war. The “Gangfight” YouTube video, released in March 2011, earned BLR a million hits and thousands of subscribers. [1]
Other parody videos followed, including interpretations of the Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow” (a viral video [4] called “Everyone Poops”), Taylor Swift’s “Our Song” undMichael BublĂ©’s “not you already fulfilled” . In September 2011 branched BLR of pop singers from the politicians with a “bad lip read” by Texas governor and US presidential candidate Rick Perry. BLR replaces Perry’s clips with fictitious dialogue to match his lips movements. After airing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show , the video messages and media has been featured in the United States, a sudden increase in Bad Lip Reading leads popularity. Following the Perry parody BLR publications poor lips readings by President Obama, [7] Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, [8] Mitt Romney, Herman Cain, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.
The channel found even more success in November 2012 when it became popular with film and television shows overdubs. BLR version of Twilightwas fast viral, followed by parodies of The Hunger Games , The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones . The videos were well received, not only by the public, but also by the cast and creator of the features spoofing features. In its online – blog, Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Lawrence’s co-star in The Hunger Games , said: “Bad Lip Reading is awesome, I was introduced by no one other than Jennifer Lawrence Yup – … You saw this man and she laughed. Expanding its scope once again in January 2013 BLR released a “bad lips reading” of the National Football League players, coaches and referees who would go on to the most popular channel videos. A second NFL video in 2014 followed, [9] [10] and a third was in 2015 published [11]
In a Rolling Stone – interview, the producer behind the Bad Lip Reading videos that he first introduced the art of lipreading encountered when his mother, then lost in her 40s, due to unknown causes their hearing. COPYRIGHT DISPUTES
One of Bad Lip Reading’s works, “Dirty Spaceman,” a redubbing of “Check It Out” by Will.i.am with Nicki Minaj was suspended due to a complaint about a copyright infringement. It is unclear whether Universal Music issued a formal DMCA Takedown request or when YouTube content ID game system is detected and automatically removed. [13] Also in March 2012 the video “Beard with glue,” a bad lip reading of “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt, was suspended from Warner Music Group on a copyright – claim. In contrast to “Dirty Spaceman”, the application was released soon, and the video was returned. Likewise “Gangfight” was demolished in 2011, but returned. UMG has also taken the “Rockin ‘All Nite Long”, Taylor Swift parody, also features Wiz Khalifa.
